I've had many people ask why RENO?! This weekend will be 3 years since I moved out here. So for all those who wonder here is why:
I was working in Tucson doing massage, the house I was living in at the time was going to be sold, so I had to go some where, when a fellow co-worker, Naomi, came back to visit. She had moved to Reno a year and a half before, and was telling me about how great massage was doing out there. I decided to take a visit out there and see for myself what Reno had to offer. (It was in the fall and had some really pretty colors) I really liked it, but was trying to decide whether to go on a mission or move to Reno. They both had their good/bad points. So after much contemplating, I decided to move to Reno and start a new chapter in my life.
I was out here 3 months before I applied for my Nevada Massage license, and got it on the first try! And it was another 3 months before I met Nick. Looking back when I was talking with Naomi about moving out here, we both were uncertain of our lives out that time. There was nothing left for me in Tucson, and nothing for Naomi in Reno. So she moved home the 1st week I was in Reno. Ironically enough, we both found our husbands and got married, and she now has a beautiful baby boy.
I like to tell people that the move was more of a whim, but I'm so grateful that I moved. The nice thing about being a member of our church is that where ever you move to, there will always be a Bishop and a Relief Society President-for you to go to. So it wasn't really a second thought once I made the decision. It's been worth it. Hopefully this makes since, but this is the nutshell version.
