Hunter turns 2!

I can't believe that my Hunter turned two today! He's such a joy to have in our family. Here are some things about Hunter:

Is a great big brother.
Loves helping Daddy
He can jump off of his bed and couch.
Loves to go kayaking with Daddy.
Loves to quote "To Infinity and Beyond" (ps-LOVES buzz light year)
He loves playing so much that if you are outside without him, he will let you know.
Is starting to use lots of his big boy words to ask for things or tell us stuff.

AND best of all:
He's very active and he is the best sleeper and napper!!!

For his birthday, it was a buzz theme. He was in heaven with all of his toys and jammies. he got buzz toys, jammies, a Mr. potato head, puzzles, and his very own backpack sleeping bag (which daddy can't wait for him use).

Kavan's Blessing

On Sunday, we blessed Kavan. It was such a special day. We got to spend it with family. Kavan did great. He didn't even make a peep, and Hunter didn't throw a fit (because he does every time dad or mom gets out of the pew).

The Last 3 Weeks

The last 3 weeks have been fun and busy. We sure have enjoyed having Kavan around. Especially HUNTER!! He loves to kiss him and show him to anyone that comes over. My parents came out and we got some major house projects done. At 2 weeks Kavan weighed to same as Hunter was at birth. It's amazing to see how different my two boys are but how much they are the same.

Sat. the 21st, Hunter came straight to Nick and told him he wanted to go boating. He was throwing a tantrum because he wanted to go boating with dad. To empathize his point he even put on his life vest. We were trying not to laugh. But he was so cute.

One night after Nick was done mowing the yard, Hunter decided that he was going to have a turn.

Kavan Richard

Warnig: Long post about my little one being born.

Kavan Richard Haines decided he was going to make is apperance and week early. I started having random contractions on monday, but wasn't sure if I was in labor. By 4am tuesday morning my contractions were 10 mins apart, so I new I was in labor. by 5:30 they were 7 mins and called the hospital and the doctor's office to find u what I needed to do. (I didn;t go into laboor with Hunter so I wasn't sure.) The doctor's office said stay hydrated and we'll see you in the office at 8am when they open up. I drank of half of glass of milk and low and behold- I went to 3-5 minutes apart. Nick's parents came over so they could get Hunter (who actually didn't get up early like he normally does). We got to the hospital by 7:11am, and was put in a room. Once the nurse was done getting my vitals and information, it was time to check me. It's never a good sign when the nurse gets a shocked look on her face, and goes in to rush Nurse mode. She checks me again and says,"Honey, your at an 8." I lost it because I knew what that meant....NO EPIDURAL!!! She went to see if I could but the doctor just wanted into a c-section and I wouldn't be getting one. So she gave me so fetenal, to help with the pain. After paging the doctor, we just had to wait. By the time he got there (maybe 10 -15mins later) I was ready to go. My doctor could find the nurse, so he had to go get the delivery table and was about to deliver the baby by himself, when the nurse showed up (apparently, the lady next to my was in the same situation I was in). After about maybe 10 pushes, ALOT of screaming and yelling (and the shutting to the door), and an epsiotomy. Kavan was born at 8:52am on July 17th. It was he most painful thing I've ever been through, but the reward was worth it. (later Nick would tell me, that this was the first time he's ever heard me scream and yell in the 5 years of marriage.) While the doctor was stitching me up, we were laughing and joking with him. Because originally I was suppose to have an 8:30am appointment with him, but the day before the office called me to change it, and I had an induce date of that Friday. So I got to see my doctor and he got of his meeting he was suppose to be in.

I have to admit that I love the recovery part, because I had no after effects. No epidural pain, and I could walk and get out of bed with in 20mins of being stitched up. We ended having to stay most of Wednesday, because Kavan had a 24hr culture done, because of a rash he had. Apparently when a baby comes out fast, the blood doesn't have time to slowly push out of the baby, so his face, and all over his body was internal scabbing (from the blood vessels popping and scabbing).

Hunter did great with meeting Kavan. He wanted to hold him , and kiss him all the time. We are so blessed to have this new little one with us. We love that Hunter loves his brother so much. Nick and I are doing great! Enjoy some pictures.

The Spring time Happenings!

So I was looking on my camera a realized that I hadn't uploaded my pictuers in a while. Here is the happenings of the Haines family at Spring time. We've been busy but have sure enjoyed all the new things Hunter can do. He is a light weight: 26 lbs, but 34 inches tall!!! We've been going to feeding therapy for almost 3 months now and we are 75-80% throw up free. Hunter has finally started drinking milk from a cup (which means no more bottles)!!! He's in a toddler bed now and loves it. Although, he did learn how to open (only his) door, so it now has a cover over it. He is talking up a storm and increasing new words every week. This week's word is "hi", so when we open his door from bed or naps- he says with a huge grin "HI!!!!" We sure love this guy!!! Enjoy the pictures!

I must say that we have had a fair share of fat, bloody lips over the last several months. Usually they are minor, but this one happened 30 mins before church happened as he was climbing stairs to go help daddy. Let's say by the time we started church all 3 of us had some amount of blood on us! We just figure that by the time he starte school that he'll have more scar tissue in his lip than actual lip muclses.

About a month ago, in preparation for the baby, we decided to switch Hunter to a toddler bed. He was so excited to play on it. He loves sleeping on it. More so he loves being able to bring all of his blankets and toys from his bed to any room in the house. The transition was a breeze. There's only been one night (last week) he kept coming out, so the next day we bought a door cover so he can't open it. I have to say that I love having the bed or the crib, becuase it's some much easier to put him to bed (than reach over the crib).

The beginning of June, we got a white water raft. it's in preparations for Nick to take his Boy Scouts white water rafting for their high adventure. We decided to blow it up in the living room, and Hunter immediately got the paddles and put them in the boat. Than he would try a paddle the raft (which didn't go anywhere). We've used it twice now as a family raft and Hunter had a blast. He even had his own little paddle to row with. We have to start him early on all the fun things to do with the family!

 For father's day this year, we didn't do anything special. Although, Hunter had to help daddy get dressed after his shower. Hunter went and got dad his tie, and then his pants and shoes and socks. Then he went and got his own white shirt and pants to match daddy. We had to find Hunter his tie, so he could match dad. The amazing thing was was that hunter left the tie alone all day (made it through 3 hours of church and it was still on).

As far as me and Nick, we are just waiting for this little baby boy to make his apperance. I have 5 weeks or less!!!! But whose counting!!!! Hunter even comes up to my belly and says "Baby" and kisses it. He;s even tried to share his sippy cup with the baby in mommy's tummy! Love my little Hunter!!!!
